Monday - 25 June

At 5:10 a.m. I started the early morning with a large grizzly south of picnic area. At 5:20 a.m. we had two black wolves south and west of the Institute. At 5:25 a.m. I spotted a grizzly sow with two coys in the ridge behind ski slope. At 5:35 a.m. I found a grizzly sow with one coy in bear meadow. At 5:45 a.m. I saw a small grizzly west of A-Z meadow. At 6:00 a.m. we had a black and a cinnamon black bear kind of close together in the 2nd sliver near ski slope. At 6:15 a.m. I found a grizzly sow with two coys on ski slope. At 6:15 a.m. we had one black and three gray wolves in the big meadow behind the east end of Jasper Bench (this was 777M's group which has 777M, a Blacktail, puff an agate and three mollies - total of 5, one black and four grays. At 6:45 a.m. I spotted a grizzly on the skyline north of coyote overlook. At 7:00 a.m. I found a black bear in the tree line south of coyote overlook. At 7:30 pm. we had two dark grizzlies hanging together on Norris Mountain. At 8:00 p.m. we had a black wolf in the rendezvous area (a Lamar Canyon yearling). At 8:05 p.m. we watched a grizzly in the rendezvous. Actually the wolf and bear got face to face at one time before moving their separate ways. At 8:30 p.m. we watched the 06 female with full belly crossing west to east, north of trash can pullout on her way back to the den. At 9:00 p.m. we watched a large cinnamon black bear near the entrance to Pebble Creek Campground.

Tuesday - 26 June

At 5:10 a.m. we had two black and one gray Lamar Canyon wolves south of footbridge heading south on a hunt. At 5:25 a.m. I spotted a grizzly sow with two coys in the bowl. At 6:05 a.m. I found a grizzly northeast of coyote overlook. At 6:40 a.m. we had a black bear south of the Institute. At 7:15 a.m. we spotted a gray Mollie south of midpoint. At 7:30 a.m. we watched a black bear sow with two brown coys south of midpoint near the tree line. At 8:00 a.m. we had a grizzly high in the bowl viewed from midpoint. At 9:00 a.m. we watched a sow grizzly with one coy in K meadow. At 9:20 a.m. I spotted a blond grizzly in the # 1 finger of Norris. At 5:20 p.m. we had a black wolf in the rendezvous area (a Lamar Canyon wolf).

Wednesday - 27 June

At 6:00 a.m. I started the day with a grizzly sow with two coys in A-Z meadow. At 6:15 a.m. I spotted a grizzly sow with one coy in K Meadow. At 7:15 a.m. we had 5 gray and one black wolf of 777M's group on Jasper Bench (note now 5 grays and 1 black - picked up another gray since yesterday. At 7:45 a.m. we had a black Mollie wolf in the big meadow behind the east end of Jasper Bench, a yearling they said and he didn't stay around with the six of 777's so close). At 9:20 a.m. I watched a grizzly sow with two coys in a high far away meadow east of the bell viewed from coyote overlook. At 9:30 a.m. Lauri L. called to point out a large grizzly moving north along the Cache Creek trail (a pretty long view from where I was at coyote overlook). At 1:40 p.m. we had a black Lamar Canyon yearling 50 yards south of Hubbard Hill (it stayed out most of the evening being viewed later south of Dorothy's). At 5:40 p.m. I saw the blond grizzly on the # 2 finger of Norris. At 8:00 p.m. I spotted a small grizzly high in the salad bowl. At 9:15 p.m. I found two black wolves south and west of picnic (Lamar Canyon's).

Thursday - 28 June

At 5:25 a.m. I spotted a small grizzly north of coyote overlook. At 5:30 a.m. we had the grizzly sow with two coy's on A-Z meadow. At 5:40 a.m. we had a 2nd grizzly with the one north of coyote overlook (equal sized grizzlies, not sure of the relationship). At 5:45 a.m. we watched a brown grizzly 300 yards north of coyote overlook grazing. At 6:00 a.m. I spotted a black bear near ski slope. At 6:40 a.m. we watched a collared grizzly low in A-Z meadow. At 7:20 a.m. I found a grizzly sow with one coy in the bowl. At 7:30 a.m. we had a grizzly sow with one coy in K meadow. At 7:35 a.m. wolf 755 M bedded north of Mid Point. Only repeat bears for the rest of the day. This time of year, the sightings are usually only for the first couple of hours and the last couple of hours.

Friday - 29 June

I left around 8:00 a.m. for home this morning. But found a grizzly south of the Institute at 5:35 a.m. At 6:00 a.m. I spotted a grizzly sow with two coy's on the top of A-Z meadow that moved way south thru the bowl later. At 6:15 a.m. I found a black bear in the bowl. And at 7:00 a.m. I saw a large grizzly north and east of coyote overlook.
