Monday - 20 October

I left before noon, cruised thru the park with no sightings and headed from Yankee Jim Canyon for the night. Between 6:05 p.m. and dark had the grizzly sow with three coys, a large dark grizzly and another grizzly. I stayed at La Duke for both my nights on this trip. It was a nice 62 degrees with a light wind today.

Tuesday - 21 October

From 7:00 a.m. thru about 8:15 a.m. had the grizzly sow with three coys (the same one I have seen before, with two dark larger cubs and one lighter smaller cub), and three separate grizzlies again at Yankee Jim Canyon. At 9:15 a.m. I got calls about a wolf at the Black Tail Ponds, it was 778M or Big Brown of the now one pack wolf pack named Blacktail (I had not seen him in two years). The last of the Druid blood wolf, and he looked really good for being old and all by himself. An inversion in the morning today 44 down at La Duke and 50 degrees up at the mountain warming up to the high 50's. I had a cow moose with two this year’s calves at Yankee Jim this morning.

Wednesday - 22 October

33 degrees this morning and a high of 40 in the park. At Yankee Jim Canyon I had nine grizzlies this morning: the grizzly sow with three coys, a large grizzly in the same field, a grizzly higher in the trees leaving, one across the treed ravine to the north, and a grizzly sow with one coy on the grass clearing above the ravine to the north It was cold and windy today and after running into Wayne K who I was going to do a couple of small hikes with, we both decided it was a good day to head home. Calvin and Lynette had six large bighorn sheep rams crossing the northern end of Swan Lake Flats from west to east today. I did find a large grizzly grazing 150 yards off the road near the Wildlife Pullout in the south of Hayden Valley before I headed out of the park.
