Two pale-coated coyotes trotted by, coming much closer to the watching crowd than the bears. Kevin happened to notice them while everyone else was at the point where discretion was the better of valor since they couldn't tell exactly what direction the bears would take - if the bears veered west, they could come right up to the apron of sage below the overlook very quickly, so a few people actually started to run back up hill. Kevin says this coyote stopped and took a good look at one of the running women. It too decided discretion was the better part of valor and moved on.
