JD,

There are so many gorgeous areas around there! There is no other place in Yellowstone where I have watched so many bears AND humans, with the humans on the trails, and the bears anywhere else, seemingly oblivious to each other. It's great habitat for all. Most of those sightings were made from the Hellroaring Overlook with a scope, but a few have occurred by looking downriver from the distant section of the Garnet Hill Loop, where you can look straight across the river to the meadowy area NE of the Hellroaring trail, just across the suspension bridge. In recent years, we have found another vantage point, that being the open hillside NW of Little Buffalo Creek, which affords great views of the area along the river.

We are doing well in Alaska. We will be visiting Kodiak in a few weeks, and another, even sexier "Alaska place of my dreams" in mid-July. We're going where the really big bears hang out!

Will you be making your customary June sojourn to Yellowstone in a few weeks?
