Best places are early and late in the day in the Lamar Valley (northeast entrance road)and Mount Washburn (between Tower and Canyon). The Hayden Valley can be good sometimes as well. Ask rangers and others who have seen the animals that you are looking for, talk to people in the shops and restraunts. Look for bear jams and folks with spotting scopes. We will be there during that time and we have seen both bears and wolves in these areas during our 1 week stays every year for the past 15 years.
