My husband and I would like to go fishing either up at Slough Creek and/or Fan Creek off of Hwy 191 in mid August. Does anyone know if the deer fly population will have died down by then? We went up to Slough Creek once in early July and to Taylor Fork another year in mid July. Both times the deer fly were just all over us...not caring at all that we had strong deet repelent on every inch of us and our clothes. We said "that's just the way it is" and stayed and fished and all, but it would have been soooo wonderful if they had not been a part of our trip. How are they in mid August??
Thank you!
