Yea a Sony HX300, not sure why I said Canon (that memory thing, cept I can't remember what it is called...) You can see in the attached photo a crop of the original photo where the image quality is limited by noise (looks almost like brush strokes in the fur) and not by pixels. I read about this in a review but did not quite know what they meant until I zoomed in on my own photos. With a smaller aperture (less optical zoom) and/or brighter light it is less apparent, but it really limits the zoom capability in all lighting conditions. My understanding is the cause is to much sensor size (20MB, sounds good for marketing and I guess it worked on me) for the camera.
