When I m out hiking I preset my 300mm zoom shutter speed to 1/300th second regardless of what zoom I m going to use. I have a vibration reduction function on my lenses but I don t depend on it. (To many blurry shots when I did) I m looking forward to seeing more of your trip reports photos.
