Last evening south of Signal, 610 and Jr. were close the the park road. I never had a visual but anyone within a mile could hear the brand new lungs on the cub. According to the Ranger, 610 was away (said 3/4 mile) and the wee one was frightened and not very happy. They did rendezvous and apparently all is well now.
This morning 399 and 2 giant 2 year olds were down below the damn feeding and crossed the river heading to Willow Flats. A fair piece of video documented the event but lighting wa anything but good shooting into indirect sun and associated glare off of the river. I am in awe of this bear. She grows more awesome each year and is still vigorous and healthy.
John, I am uncertain of timing issues but hope to be here for about another week, then we may head north, depending on things going on back in the real world. :-)
Huge bonus: not very many people, but this too will change.
