You know how they say that 95 percent of visitors to Yellowstone never get further than a hundred yards from a road, or some such thing? This seems to me to be a perfect illustration of that notion--even though it's only a relatively short walk down to this lower viewing area, which I firmly believe gives you a much nicer view of Gibbon Falls, practically NO ONE goes down there. The last time we were there I believe there were two people who were just starting to walk back up to the parking area as we arrived down there, and on this occasion there wasn't anyone else there. All the while, several hundred people are teeming around the parking area. Oh well, it's nice to have a way to get away from the crowds for a moment.
