Back at the trailhead/visitor center, we piled into the car and headed out of Colter Bay in search of somewhere to shoot a sunset. After brief stops at Oxbow Bend and the Snake River Overlook, we ended up at the barns at Mormon Row. The reason we kept moving on until the sunset was imminent was the total lack of clouds in the sky, which makes for relatively drab photos in the Tetons. It seemed a little ironic, that after days of complaining that we essentially had nothing BUT wall-to-wall clouds, now I was wishing for just a couple of the dumb things.

Oh well again. We were here, so we made the best of it. Lissa amused herself by shooting some horses in an adjacent fenced-in area, and I played with a range of exposures in the hope of getting something at all. Tricky with the barn in shade, the mountains silhouetted, and no clouds to reflect any light around, and honestly at the time we left I thought I had absolutely nothing. Turned out when we got home, though, that I found a handful of frames that I liked at least well enough--although a freakin' cloud or two would have still been appreciated!
