Check out this new piece of research planned for many of the hydrothermal zones in Yellowstone. The findings should provide a new level of detail to depths of up to 1,000 feet below the surface. I've been pitching the idea of using ground penetrating radar to map the subsurface voids in the travertine at Mammoth for years, but this may be a non-intrusive way of achieving even greater detail to a greater depth.
