I have seen those fisheries people doing their work at LeHardy before, and both you and Hoot are correct. There are bigger cuts in the river. I simply had forgotten about that population.

Gull Point Drive is where we did most of our damage, back in the 1970s, and a wee bit in the 1980s. I tried all kinds of other places between there and West Thumb, but never found a comparably productive spot.

I am thinking that a trap net must be somewhat similar to the purse seine nets that I am familiar with. When I lived in Washington, I saw a lot of those rigs in the fishing ports, like Westport. For all I know, there are probably a lot of them operating out of Alaskan ports as well. I wonder if a trap net is just a smaller easier to work purse seine, or whether it is of substantially different architecture?
