living north of YNP, I go through it twice a day a few times a week. I just plan on eating breakfast and dinner while I wait for the pilot car, and enjoy seeing the progress as it inches along. Being cranky doesn't help it go any faster, so I just enjoy it and think about the road construction in the previous century, looking at the thermally affected soil, and anything else about history in the area I am stopped. I found a bench mark monument one time right out my window, and previously had no idea it was there. Little victories!
