BP, Can you locate the author's name? I hadn't realized that Overhanging Cliff might be older than Huckleberry Ridge, thought it and Junction Butte were much younger. In 1985, was taken to see the contact location on Mount Everts. I couldn't climb down the face, though at some point, some of our group got down. In any case, with good binoculars, the red and white contact under the basalt can be clearly seen from Mammoth Terraces.

When Dr. Loendorf showed us the contacts at Overhanging Cliff, they were a couple of feet above the level of the road surface with a bit of drainage ditch, but I didn't notice them on my most recent summer pass. Too much traffic in a narrow corridor at that point.
