Very Interesting!
I'm not aware of any visible "hot rock" contacts on the east or north side of the Yellowstone between Tower Falls and the the Narrows (though there must be some), but the gravels underlying the basalt you can see from the osprey viewing points just fascinate me. I'd love to secure myself with a rope and examine those gravels in place...from the trail from the Picnic area opposite Calcite Cliffs, the slopes looked too steep and unstable to try this without assistance. Or permission. The bighorn sheep clattering up and down the cliffs probably know, but they aren't telling.
