Hello ! This is one of my favorite blogs ... I first visited Yellowstone back in 2000,
and fell in love with the magic immediately, as I was lucky enough to see bears and
wolves all to myself, no tourists around ... it left its mark. I have since lived all over
the world and not had a chance to return until ten days ago, when I was here with
my young school aged children for two days. I studied this blog and others, to try to
maximize my children's experience to give them that same magic, and it paid off ...
four bears, four foxes, two moose, and on and on ... they were in awe (they have
known both city and a little country but ours is a bit more tame). We did see the old
wolf den through scope by Slough Creek area, but no wolves ... one animal on our
bucket list we did not see. Well, after a week in Seattle and a trip through Banff ...
we are spontaneously going to stop through Yellowstone one more time ! We will be
there tonight and part of early tomorrow (Sat the 14th night, leaving afternoon Sun
15th). We will be up as early as necessary ... we are always respectful of seasoned
watchers and their equipment, and time ... so having said all of the above, what is
our BEST shot for trying to see the majestic wolves in such a short time ? I'm
somewhat familiar with the Lamar area ... A-Z Meadow, for example. But other
areas I haven't discovered what is being described (Dead Puppy Hill) ... so any help
is appreciated ! We will be there both today and then the morning to afternoon
tomorrow, as I said ... hope to run into some of you as well !
