Wildlife, elk and bison

Has there been a noticeable reduction in the elk and bison population in others
opinions ? In the past five to ten years I have seen a big drop in both elk and bison
herds, especially the Madison and Hayden. I'm guessing the wolf project that began
in 95 has something to do with this ! Any one else have information on this subject ?
