Thousands do it every year. Unlike certain other places around North America, where food habituated bears are known to occasionally break into vehicles to filch food, Yellowstone's bears are managed to prevent the association of humans with food on the part of bears; and in those rare instances where bears get food rewards from humans, and the inevitable bad behavior ensues, aversive conditioning is applied to remediate the situation. If that is not successful, the bear is removed from the population.
