September is usually a beautiful time to visit. One week won't make a difference to the chance of rain or snow. If it snows, it's not likely to stick long. Just be prepared with layers of clothing and a windbreaker, so if a cold front comes in you'll be warm enough. Then you can peel off the extra clothing when it warms up.
