These are in the Lower Geyser Basin around Old Faithful. It took me a long time not to be confused by the names Upper and Lower, as I always associated map directions north to be upper and south to be lower, but here, like the Upper and Lower Falls, go by how the Firehole and Yellowstone River run. They run from the south to the north. Therefore, the southern ones are "Upper" and northern ones "Lower." This first pool, Heart Spring, is named for the heart-like shape of the crater and is 16 feet deep.
