Registration Open For 12th Biennial Scientific Conference On The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem

The 12th Biennial Scientific Conference on the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem will be held October 6-8, 2014 in Mammoth Hot Springs, Wyoming.

This year's conference theme is Crossing Boundaries in Science, Management, and Conservation focusing on the challenges and opportunities posed by crossing environmental, disciplinary, and jurisdictional boundaries in the quest to achieve one greater Yellowstone ecosystem.

This year s signature speakers include conservationist and author Craig Groves, senior scientist for The Nature Conservancy; fire ecologist, author, and University of Wisconsin professor Dr. Monica Turner; and Southern Methodist University professor, historian, and author Dr. Robert Righter. Discounted conference registration rates are available through Sept. 5, 2014. To register, visit https://secure.xanterra.net/forms/pub/yellowstone_biennial.php.

The conference series, initiated in 1991, encourages awareness and application of wide-ranging, high-caliber scientific work on the region's natural and cultural resources. It provides a forum for knowledge sharing among hundreds of researchers, park managers, and the general public.

The Conference Program Committee consists of representatives throughout the GYE including Yellowstone National Park; Grand Teton National Park; Montana State University; University of Wyoming; University of Montana; National Park Service (NPS)- Great Northern Landscape Conservation Cooperative; Gallatin National Forest; US Geological Survey - Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center; Wildlife Conservation Society; NPS-Greater Yellowstone Inventory and Monitoring Network; Greater Yellowstone Coordinating Committee; Wyoming Game & Fish; and Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks.
