they are afraid of BEARS!!!! The first time we took the kids to GTNP, I was kinda worried about bears. Rob was terrified of them :-) I think we were both pretty sure that if we hiked an inch beyond the well-used and crowded areas, we would surely be eaten. We all laugh about it now...but we were honestly scared to death to enter THE BACKCOUNTRY for it meant certain death. LOL!! We didn't go past Inspiration POint then, but I'm sure glad we did on later vacations. It's one of my favorite hikes. CasCan is so beautiful.
