Ah the good camp located at the foothills of Hyalite Canyon. But we never imagined how good the camp would be. Stripped skunk in the woodpile, red-tailed hawks jumping the yard voles, deer every night, Hungarian partridge cautiously feeding at the habitat blinds, dusky grouse (f.k.a. spruce grouse) walking past the camera tripod legs, black headed grosbeaks fighting off pine siskins for millet, magpies lining up for the suet feeders, rabbits devouring sunflower seeds, pine cones raining down on my head with each breeze, the one ear of corn harvested together with 6 raspberries and 12 onions, 2 camas roots, a Nikon with a 500 mm lens, a glass of Bordeaux, and as Cue noted in Jeremiah Johnson "a fine horse under me"-----truly it is a good camp!
