I just published the latest iteration of "Close Encounters of the Furry Kind", titled "What's a nice bear like you doing in a place like this?" It follows my very first visit to Yellowstone in 1967, and is full of little cultural artifacts from the Late Sixties. There is a segment on the history of bear management in Yellowstone, complete with numerous historic photos that go way back.
