From Canyon, you can be in Hayden in 6 minutes. Try that first.
Early in the morning, you'll have to do your own "finding". Use your binoculars, but don't forget to look close too with the naked eye.
Added bonus, most of the best sunrise photos from YNP that I have seen have all come from Hayden, from the Alum Creek area.
