Construction to the South

I know they are doing construction to the south of there - they are finishing a new trail and overlook to replace the existing trails on the hills south of Grand Prismatic Spring.

Perhaps the closures of these two trails has to do with a overhaul of the area. Looking at an overhead view in google maps - the area certainly looks daunting, so it wouldn't surprise me if they were thinking of adding more safeguards over there too.

With the number of tourists on the rise, and the popularity of this area, I would agree that it probably has to do with minimizing risks.
