nner was very relaxing in the picnic area on the banks of the Yellowstone River just south of the Mud Volcano area. The boys cooled their feet in the river as elk and bison grazed on the hillsides on the other side. It was getting late as we packed up from dinner so there wasn t time to visit Mud Volcano before heading into Haden Valley. I had not brought my spotting scope because its tripod is broken, but one of the wolf watchers was kind enough to allow my mother-in-law to view the wolves through his scope. Darkness eventually closed in and we took the Norris cutoff to head back to our camper in Madison.
