As I approached Rainy Lake I came across a little jam (always portends something cool!). Indeed, there were Rosie and her three one-year old cubs rooting around in the grass and being bears. The "bear" (really, people) manager, Ed, was calm and so was Rosie assembled audience. No problem getting a spot in the pullout, and standing there with a couple dozen others who all enjoyed the treat without any injudicious behavior. As the family crossed the road everyone stayed where they were, Ed didn't have to shoo anybody back from the road or into their cars. We then swiveled our cameras around to enjoy another 20 or 30 minutes of bear-watching. It was very much like Yellowstone was 20 years ago. HEAVEN!

In this photo, one of the kids asks mom if he can climb the tree. She evidently said no, and he abandoned his efforts to follow her lead further up the hill. What a good baby!
