There is a broad closure of the Crater Hills area in effect right now, and the rangers have been very aggressive in enforcing it. The Wapiti Pack have a den somewhere in that geography. There are maps on the closure signs that show the boundaries of the closure.
Folks have been seeing the Wapitis out and about in Hayden Valley from the road on occasion, but I have not had any luck with them.
As far as the other packs go, I have minimal information. I know the Eight Mile Pack and the Junction Butte packs are seen off and on, but I have no knowledge of where there dens are.
After seeing wolves often through the winter, we have been concentrating more on bears lately. We spent an entire afternoon watching Raspberry and her cub, Jam, in the burned forest by the Nine Mile trailhead on Monday afternoon.
