BP - Yes, Bridge Bay, Pelican Creek, and just south of Canyon is GGO territory. Max Waugh thinks rather than an irruption it's just owls returning to areas near roads where for some reason they find good pickins' (and can be photographed easily). Doubt we'll ever know, but it would be nice if it persisted over the years, they're such great looking birds, cool to watch.
