Another one, from an earlier era.
Olaus Murie wasn't only a talented painter; he became known as "the father of modern elk management" for his contributions to the understanding of elk and numerous other large mammals in the Rocky Mountain west and in Alaska. He and his brother and their wives were themselves forces of Nature. The buildings of the Murie Ranch (now a designated National Historic District) are tucked into the trees just behind Grand Teton National Park's Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center at the Moose, WY entrance to the park. At times it is possible to tour the homes and other buildings to learn more about the Muries' legacy, though the pandemic has shut down most such activity for the time being.
