The Fairy Falls Trailhead is also for the new Grand Prismatic Overlook. They expanded the parking there last summer. Last week I went about 2PM (cold morning steam was gone), found a spot and hiked to the overlook. The parking lot at Midway was outdated and too small many years ago, They allow buses in and they take up lots of the space and have lots of difficulty maneuvering around. The lot needs to be expanded or a new lot developed. By the way, I drove in from West Yellowstone one evening at 6PM. Saw many vehicles coming out of the park but not another coming in until Seven Mile Bridge. My son and I were the only people on the boardwalk at Fountain Paint Pots for almost a half-hour.
