The Lakeshore Trail is a 2-mile loop that starts right behind the visitor center. It leads you along the marina for a bit and then through a short stretch of woods on a sort of peninsula sticking out into Colter Bay. This peninsula meets up with ANOTHER peninsula, with the two of them being connected by a skinny little neck of land. That's what we were walking on in the last photo--the water on the right is mirrored by more water on the left, just outside the frame of the picture. Then the trail follows the "second" peninsula around until you reach the little isthmus again and complete the loop. Follow all that? Regardless, you get to spend some time in the woods, you get some nice views across Jackson Lake to the Tetons (although those views would obviously be better in the morning than in the afternoon, but hey, this is when we were here, so deal with it), and at least if you were us, you found a nice little patch of cheerful yellow flowers.
