Clearly it is easier for the well-intentioned to change their behavior when they know what their behavior actually is. This thing was just beyond the first sign around the bend. How much noise is your vehicle generating, anyway?

I see two problems with the potential effectiveness of this feedback. The first is, the decibel units are very similar to miles-per-hour, so it may not be clear to every driver that's it's giving you a noise reading rather than a speed reading. And there needs to be, but isn't, a second noise-o-meter just a little farther down the road so those who do slow down can see the difference which is hard to otherwise sense from inside a moving car.
