Wednesday - 25 June

42 degrees this morning warming up to 75 degrees. The coyote den moved from North and East of Dorothy's Knoll to Ranger Rock, above the Buffalo Ranch (still have five puppies). At 7:00 a.m. we had a black bear on Honeymoon Clearing in Antelope Creek. At 7:05 a.m. I spotted a cinnamon black bear near road above T-58 in Antelope Creek. At 7:15 a.m. I found a large black bear in the bottoms at Antelope Creek. At 8:00 a.m. we had a brown grizzly high north of Coyote Overlook (high grass and flowers this time of year makes poor viewing). At 8:05 a.m. we watched a dark grizzly moving up in A-Z Meadow. At 9:00 a.m. we had a courting pair of grizzlies (the boar was quite brown in color) in the Bowl viewed from the Institute. At 9:05 a.m. we had a brown grizzly joins the A-Z grizzly, wrestle for a while then move apart. The A-Z grizzly then replaces the original boar in the courting pair and mates with the sow, while the original boar grazes nearby. At 8:00 p.m. my last sighting for the day was the grizzly sow with one coy on the skyline east of A-Z Meadow.

At 8:00 a.m. the grizzly sow with one coy in Bear Meadow viewed from Midpoint Pullout. At 9:00 a.m. I spotted a large grizzly in the meadow east of Bear Meadow. At 5:00 p.m. we had a grizzly on the tree line south of the Confluence. At 6:00 p.m. we watched a grizzly grazing in A-Z Meadow. At 6:50 p.m. I found a cinnamon sow and a black bear boar near the mixed conifer/aspen forest. At 7:15 p.m. we had a large black bear near the Gut Road exit curve near Antelope Creek.
